Late Post : Dampa-style Shrimps

Oh yesssss, I was able to cook for the first time in my 28 years, my version of Dampa-style Shrimps! I researched online on how to cook shrimps (it's really amazing how the internet can help you in a lot of ways!) and voila! Simple ingredients like the butter, garlic, salt, pepper, cornstarch and orange soda made my shrimps taste like those in Dampa, I'm not kidding =)

I'm beginning to love the art of cooking! I hope I can cook someday my fave dish - PAELLA. Hehehehehe =)

Crabby Tuesday!

I'm really not a Chef but every once in a while I love to cook =) Last Tuesday, I bought a 1/2 kilo of Alimango and decided to research online on how to clean and cook one. I went for the "Steamed Crab" and here's how I cooked it:

Prep: Since crabs live in muddy place, make sure that they are thoroughly cleaned. In my case, I submerged the crab in water for about 8 minutes then rinsed it off. I did this twice to make sure that no mud will be left off.

Boil: In a pot, I put water and placed in the crab to boil. I read that adding salt is not needed because it will just dry the inside of the crab. Note that the lid must be half open when boiling.

Flavor: Chopped garlic will help with the taste so I added it to the pot. I also combined a 1/2 cup of Sprite and 1/2 cup of Vinegar and poured it over.

The Alimango was cooked for about 10-15 minutes. For the sauce, I melted butter and combined it with calamansi, saaraaaaaaap!

Verdict: The Alimango tasted great and its meat was so tender. It tasted even yummier when dipped in the buttermansi, WINNER!!! And to think that this was my first time to cook an Alimango!!! Woohoo!!!

The Foodie In Me : What I tried out this week.......

Food Trip!!! I tried out 2 dishes this week:

1.) Kroketten

I saw their stall in Festival Mall and I ordered the minis (9 pcs) for only P35. Chose the flavors bacon, cheese and tuyo and everything tasted good together with the honey mustard dip! Kudos to Kroketten!

2.) Faburrito

I was hungry one morning and I saw and checked out Faburrito at The Columns. I got their Breakfast Sandwich (P110) and I didn't even finish the whole thing 'coz it was stuffed with steak, tomatoes and egg, heavy breakfast indeed!

Loved both dishes and will definitely come back for more =)

ADMU vs. DLSU at The Big Dome

I got invited again by my friends to watch the biggest rivalry in college history hehe so I went to meet up with Crissie at MRT Ayala since both of us will be riding the MRT to Cubao. Of course, our MRT ride went so fast that we didn't realize it was our stop already, major chikahan!!! Next, we went straight to Gateway to have our late lunch. Ings, another UAAP enthusiast, met up with us before going to Araneta. Our seats were only UPPER BOX so no reservations, we had to get in line the soonest possible to be able to choose good seats. True enough, our seats were great!!! The game started around 4:30 PM and it was a good game. Although we lost, the players did their best. More pictures to follow because all were taken by my friends and I'm just waiting for them to upload it.
